Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Selects Two Springfield High School Career and Technical Education Programs for Funding Award

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – (December 17, 2019) The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce presented $5000 to Springfield High School Medical Assistant Program, and $1595 to Springfield High School Business and Technology Pathway through #WorkReady Career and Technical Education Fund.

$5000 from the CTE fund was presented to the Medical Assistant Program, part of the Springfield High School’s Health Science CTE Program of Study, to support the purchase of equipment for the first ever certified Medical Assistant program in a high school in the state of Oregon. $1595 from the CTE Fund was presented to the Business and Technology program at Springfield High School for the purchase of a three-year subscription of project-based business education software utilized by over 400 students each year. In addition, the Chamber provided an annual Chamber membership to the Springfield High School Miller Mart, run by students from the Business and Technology program.

Each year, the Springfield Chamber’s #WorkReady Impact Investors and business leaders on the education committee select a deserving program, which advances the Chamber, City, and School District partnership goals to increase graduation rates and develop a #WorkReady pool of talent.
