PeaceHealth, Everyone Village, and Volunteers in Medicine Announce Expansion Project

PeaceHealth and Everyone Village are joining forces to add a 10-bed recuperation wing to Everyone Village’s thriving 70-unit community for people transitioning out of homelessness.
At the same time, PeaceHealth, Volunteers in Medicine, and Everyone Village will open a two-room primary care medical on-site clinic–the building donated and built by Eugene School District 4J Future Build students, with PeaceHealth underwriting day-to-day operations–so discharged patients and village residents can receive seamless follow-up and primary care under one roof.
Everyone Village will assign dedicated staff who will work side-by-side with PeaceHealth’s care-management team, guiding each discharged patient into the village and surrounding them with tailored wellness support. Both the recuperation units and the clinic will be built by local high school students through 4J Future Build program—turning the project into a real-world classroom and a community health milestone.

Project background
Everyone Village already runs a vibrant emergency-shelter program with wraparound supports, positioning the campus for its next phase of growth. Since 2020, PeaceHealth has provided recuperative housing for patients experiencing homelessness at an off-site location; planting those beds inside Everyone Village enhances that model by surrounding guests with a supportive community, on-site medical services, and neighbors invested in their recovery. Meanwhile, Volunteers in Medicine has been looking for a neighborhood-scale home for a primary-care clinic. Those converging needs ignited this forward-thinking collaboration, and—thanks to additional partners like 4J’s Future Build construction program—the project came together as a holistic, community-driven response.
Audience | Immediate benefit | Long-term outcome |
Unhoused hospital discharges | Safe, dignified place to heal | Reduced ER readmissions and costs |
Everyone Village residents | On-campus clinic access | Preventive care and higher stability |
PeaceHealth | Fewer “exits to homelessness” | Sustainable discharge solution |
4J students | Real-world build experience | Career pathways in the trades |
Wider community | Neighborhood clinic (phase 2) | Health-equity gains county-wide |

Project goals
- Bridge the discharge-to-homelessness gap by offering safe beds and wraparound supports for unhoused patients during recuperation.
- Deliver on-site, low-barrier primary care for Everyone Village residents, recuperation guests, and—eventually—the surrounding neighborhood.
- Model a replicable partnership that combines health care, education, housing, and philanthropy to improve community wellness.
Capacity of clinic
The clinic will open by serving the recuperation program and emergency shelter clients with part time weekly open hours. As the clinic gets going it is likely to increase hours of service via other provider partnerships. Ultimately, at full-tilt, the clinic will become a vital piece of our community’s overall health and wellness infrastructure.
Save the date
A grand opening celebration will take place on Tuesday, September 16th. Stay tuned for additional details!
