Springfield Chamber Offers New ‘Essential Skills’ Program in April

Give your managers the tools they need to cultivate essential skills in their teams through the WorkReady Essential Skills: Train the Trainers workshop this April!

The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is offering new programming in the second quarter of 2023, beginning with the WorkReady Essential Skills: Train the Trainers workshop this April. This workshop is being offered at no cost, thanks to grant funding received by Lane Workforce Partnership, and will provide managerial-level training for integrating essential skills learning into an organizations’ hiring, onboarding, and professional development processes.

Managers and trainers are the target audience. Throughout the workshop, managers will receive tools and takeaways for helping develop their employees in the areas of communication, collaboration, adaptability, and critical thinking. Managers will also be introduced to existing basic skills and essential skills trainings in the Springfield and Eugene area for their employees to utilize on an ongoing basis.

Essential skills are critical in any industry sector, and have been identified by employers among the skills they’d most like to enhance in existing staff. The Essential Skills: Train the Trainers workshop will take place over three half days, April 17th, 18th, and 19th from 8:30am to 12:30pm each day.
