Travel Lane County Announces New Board Member

Travel Lane County welcomes Julie Collins, executive director of the Cascades Raptor Center, to their board of directors. Cascades Raptor Center is well known for its work rehabilitating injured raptors, as well as other birds and animals. It’s also an amazing visitor attraction that welcomes thousands of visitors and residents to its south Eugene campus each year. Ms. Collins will fill an at-large position and serve out the remaining year of a three-year term. She is eligible for reappointment to a full three-year term in 2023. 

Travel Lane County is a private nonprofit 501(c)(6) corporation, founded in 1980. It has a 30-member voting board and appointed, non-voting ex-officio members who are encouraged to participate in discussions and announcements. Board members must be Travel Lane County business/organization partners.

Recently appointed ex-officio board members include:

  • Megan Messmer, Assistant City Manager, City of Florence
  • Jenna Cusimano, Interim Manager of Economic Development, Lane County
  • Neil Laudati, Assistant City Manager, City of Springfield
  • Jameson Auten, General Manager, Lane Transit District

Travel Lane County markets and promotes the Eugene, Cascades and Coast region as a destination for travel, conventions, sports, meetings, and events. It serves as a private, nonprofit association dedicated to economic development through visitor spending, which contributed more than $859 million into Lane County, Oregon’s economy in 2021.
