Travel Lane County’s Tourism Ambassador award recognizes the partnership Travel Lane County has with each chamber of commerce in the region.
Our chamber partners know their community better than anyone and each year we ask them to select an individual, business or organization that exemplifies the unmatchable hospitality locals and visitors experience every day. Our Springfield Tourism Ambassador is ALKO Hotels. Comments provided by the Springfield Chamber of Commerce include:
“Al and Tina Patel, along with their ALKO Hotels team, are visionary, hard-working, community-minded and their enthusiasm for all that our community has to offer makes us all believers. The Patels have been early adopters in a vision for Springfield’s Glenwood area, a key River District neighborhood connecting Eugene and Springfield. ALKO currently has five hotels in Eugene and Springfield. The construction has added to our region’s lodging, employment, and travel options, created opportunities for us to bid on events and bring more tourism to the area, and catalyzed business and economic activity. As importantly, our region’s brand identity and visitor experience is enhanced when guests from across the country choose to stay in any one of ALKO’s properties. ALKO hotels attracts a diverse clientele through intentionally built amenities and unique hotel brands. The newest – a tru hotel by Hilton – opened in August and is one of these that is intended to appeal to tech savvy travelers. ALKO Hotels’ Al and Tina Patel and family are hospitality industry entrepreneurs who are invested heart-and-soul in our community’s best possible future. That’s why we are proud to name them Springfield’s 2020 Tourism Ambassador.”
