Springfield Chamber Supports The Arts with 2024 Block Party ‘Live Mural’ Sponsorship
On September 6, the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 2024 Springfield’s The BLOCK Party community mural by local artist/muralist Bayne Gardner in the back parking lot of the Emerald Art Center. The Chamber will host a booth located on 5th Street with information and activities centered around their community mission, and a celebration of their 75th anniversary of incorporation.
At the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, when they say, “We Open Doors,” they are saying they explore every opportunity to enhance the vibrancy of our community by exposing and creating pathways for our businesses and citizens to thrive.
As such, the Springfield Chamber is honored to sponsor the Springfield BLOCK Party, an event that brings the entire community together for a day of fellowship, recreation, creativity, and hometown spirit. The Emerald Art Center live mural project provides Chamber Board, staff, and community volunteers with a unique opportunity to address several Chamber tenets all at once: disrupt conventional perceptions; deliver a welcoming experience; and of course, enhance the quality of the place where we live.
The Chamber is proud to be working with Bayne Gardner, a talented and accomplished artist whose Springfield roots and passion for community involvement make this sponsorship a perfectly suited endeavor for the Chamber’s support. As for the mural itself, Mr. Gardner will begin working a few days before the BLOCK Party, creating a framework that will be enhanced with community participation at the event.
The Springfield BLOCK Party will take place on Friday, September 6th, between 4:00pm and 9:00pm. The live mural will be on the back parking lot wall of the Emerald Art Center, at 500 Main Street in downtown Springfield. Hope to see you there!
