Blood donation is an important way you can help during the COVID-19 pandemic

Our community is facing a significant blood shortage due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. It’s important to know that the act of giving blood is still safe yet donors are staying home – and this puts our community supply at risk.

YOU STILL CAN DO YOUR PART:

BloodworksNW Lane Blood Center (2211 Willamette St., Eugene) is offering extended hours for donation:

  • Monday, Tuesday and Friday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday and Thursday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Breakfast available!)
  • Sunday: 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Please make an appointment to give blood by visiting www.bloodworksnw.org and clicking the “Book now” button. You can also download the BloodworksNW App on iTunes or text bloodapp to 91985.  This will allow you to see where blood drives will be, book your appointment, track your donations and let you know your blood type after your first donation.

Bloodworks has posted information addressing questions related to COVID-19 at bloodworksnw.org/coronavirus. Blood donation takes about an hour from registration to post-donation refreshment. Information about who can donate and where is available at www.bloodworksnw.org.
