Lane Transit District (LTD) bus operators, LTD retirees, and drivers from the community will be behind the wheel of the buses delivering visitors from the Eugene Airport to many of the hotels in the area during the World Athletic Championships Oregon22, July 15-24.

“When the call went out that LTD needed bus operators to temporarily join the team, our retirees were the first to sign up with a group of highly-skilled community members,” said Mark Johnson, LTD’s Interim General Manager. “We are pleased to welcome these professionals as temporary employees to join us in welcoming the world to Eugene-Springfield.”

The 59 temporary shuttle operators, including LTD bus operators, will be driving LTD RideSource “cut-a-way” buses as well as those provided to the District by Portland’s TriMet and Salem Area Mass Transit District (Cherriots).

“We truly appreciate the commitment TriMet and Cherriots have made to support LTD and our communities during this once-in-a-lifetime event,” Johnson said. “LTD’s temporary drivers and our partners at TriMet and Cherriots are the backbone of this supplemental service.”

While the buses will sport LTD RideSource, TriMet and Cherriots logos, visitors will know which bus to board to their hotel based on the sign in the bus window for Zone 1 or Zone 2. Signage at the airport’s baggage claim will inform visitors about which hotels are in which zone. Information is also available at the airport information desk and on the LTD website.

Airport Shuttle Bus Schedules are here.

Details about how to take the LTD bus to the “Explore Our World” destination videos as here.

LTD’s Airport Shuttle supplements private taxi, ride-hailing, and ride-sharing services.

During WCH Oregon22, LTD’s Customer Service Center in the Eugene Station will be open every day from 7 am to 7 pm to assist local passengers and visitors.
