Meet Sylvia Ryan, programs coordinator for Global Tours & Travel-USA. To welcome them as a new member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, we recently spoke with her to find out more about their company and services.
Tell us a little about Global Tours & Travel.
Global Tours & Travel-USA is a tour agency that plans and takes you to the world’s most wonderful places in North America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Tours and travel is our passion! Where and how did you get your start in the travel industry?
Well, first of all: travel takes us out of our comfort zones and inspires us to see, taste, and try new things. It constantly challenges us, not only to adapt to and explore new surroundings, but also engage with different people, to embrace adventures as they come, and to share new and meaningful experiences with friends and loved ones. Traveling is one of the most inspiring activities I can think of because it expands the mind and fills the gaps. Seeing new places, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures are all incredibly enriching experiences that encouraged me to get into the travel industry. However, one thing that really inspired me to venture into the travel industry is learning about a place’s history and culture through its food, art, music, and architecture. Exploring these elements helps me gain a deeper understanding of the area I’m visiting, which makes it even more enjoyable for me!
Additionally, being able to take pictures or videos while traveling allows me to capture memories from my trips so I can look back on them fondly, later down the road. Not undermining the importance of money, I did realize that the best way to live life as a human being was to see other humans, connect with nature, and see as much of this beautiful planet as I can. Truly, this planet is the only thing we all have … the rest is all a creation of the mind. I want to see as much as possible, experience it to the fullest!
What services do you offer travelers and to what destinations?
Our main destinations are North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The offers include but are not limited to: wildlife adventure and safaris, ticket booking, hotel booking, visa, cultural tours, sustainable tourism, car tours, and airport pickups.
What do you like most about your work?
One of the most important things I like about my job is the fact that there’s an opportunity or space to advance in developing global skills, that your tourism skills are transferrable all around the world. Once you have the experience, you can work in many different parts of the world.
Do you have any special, upcoming tours you’d like to mention?
OH YES YES! We do have our upcoming tour: 17 days – Tour Uganda, Africa, July 11th – 27th, 2023 at a friendly fee of $4,000 (individual) and $3,800 per person for a group of four.
