Willamalane Offers Affordable, Safe Childcare Programs This Winter

At Willamalane’s all-day school-age care and preschool programs, kids focus on online learning and having fun with friends in a safe environment. These programs aim to meet the needs of the 68% of local families who reported having unmet childcare needs in an October survey developed with and distributed by local park and recreation organizations.

Safety is and always will be a primary concern at Willamalane. All programs at Willamalane implemented extensive measures around face coverings and sanitation, all within the state health and Early Learning Division guidelines. Willamalane’s facilities are equipped with the space needed for extra safety, and staff are trained to create an environment that is both secure and fun.

Extended financial support

For some families, some or all costs for childcare at Willamalane may be covered by the Department of Human Services through the Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) program. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been important updates to the program including:

No copay for one year if qualified for ERDC before December 31, 2020.
The income limit has increased significantly. Now, a family of four earning less than $70,788 per year qualifies for ERDC. Additional family size and income limits, along with other information, are available here.
Willamalane scholarships are also available.

Programs Offered

Camps over winter break will feature recreation programs to keep kids and staff safe while having fun. This camp is ideal for elementary school students in grades K-5. Registration opens December 1.

While school is in session, Willamalane has a program for elementary school students in grades K-5 currently learning online. Full-time and part-time preschool programs are also offered.
