SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Timber Products is proud to announce a significant investment with the installation of the Meinan Lathe at our Yreka, California, facility. The addition of the Meinan Lathe will further improve the production of veneer and plywood as part of an ongoing strategy to modernize Timber Products’ plywood business.

“This investment demonstrates the strong commitment by the Gonyea family and board to invest in the future of Timber Products. It builds on other investments such as the recently completed dryer project in the Medford, Oregon, facility,” said Steve Killgore, CEO of Timber Products. “We are excited to utilize the Meinan Lathe and have plans for more initiatives that achieve efficiency while producing higher quality products.”

“We are excited to utilize the Meinan Lathe and have plans for more initiatives that achieve efficiency while producing higher quality products.”

The Meinan Company was founded over 60 years ago in Japan and its innovative research and development team was the first to develop an automated veneer lathe line.

Meinan has installations across the globe. The project at Yreka, California, will be the first machine with 10-foot production capability in North America. Meinan is known for delivering projects that improve recovery, efficiency, and accuracy.

“The new Meinan Lathe will enable Yreka to provide our mills with the highest quality veneer in the industry,” said Chris Chase, general manager of Timber Products California Operations. “We look forward to working with our partners at Meinan to execute this project to create exceptional products for our customers.”

Timber Products will be installing and beginning Meinan Lathe operations at the Yreka, California, facility later this year.
