Advanced manufacturing integrates new technology, improved processes, and methods of management in order to improve the process of manufacturing products. Research and innovative engineering are vital in this process, as the competitive market is constantly seeking better and newer ways to produce products that are more environmentally-friendly, efficient, and cost-effective. The ability to turn raw materials into quality goods is necessary in today’s fast-paced industrial society.  One such company that is a leader in innovative technology is Advanced Elastomer Technologies (AET), a Chamber Member previously named CoPoly Tech, LLC. Read more about their TEMAX® Technology below, explained in detail by Ron Sprainis, President of Advanced Elastomer Technologies.

Advanced Elastomer Technologies has been developing and producing high tech products in Springfield for 19 years. Our TEMAX® technology is based on an alloyed  copolymer plastic elastomer which through a unique blend of processing and shape engineering, a highly efficient, extremely durable energy absorbing shock absorbing spring material is produced.

In conjunction with the extreme durability of its base copolymer, the TEMAX® product utilizes unique, yet accommodating engineering, to achieve an elastomer shock absorber/spring material with 7 to 10 times the capacity of rubbers and urethanes in the same space and weight. The inert quality of the base polymer further adds to the products durability by being unaffected by oil, grease, chemicals, salt spray, ozone, sunlight, hydraulic fluids and fuels.  AET’s processing combines with the base polymer’s inertness to achieve durability that has 5 times longer life expectancy than steel coil springs, 10 times longer than rubber and 20 times longer than urethane.

With 39 years of expertise in this technology, AET is one of only 2 companies, in the world, capable of performing the entire capability of this unique technology.  In 2014, AET signed an agreement with the Zimmer Group of Rheinau, Germany for international sales and marketing of AET’s industrial product line.  AET’s technology has found many applications in lumber mills, steel mills, automotive, aerospace, robotics, trucking, passenger transit and freight railroads.  Recent AET developments, in improving the efficiency and safety on freight railroad, has allowed Advanced Elastomer Technology to expand, in Springfield, from 2,800 sq ft to 28,000.
