In April, the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce brought together a panel of visionary women leaders to discuss influence and leadership through their unique lens. Over 80 people attended, marking a record turnout for this special LunchVox event. Opened by Chamber President & CEO, Vonnie Mikkelsen, and facilitated by Nancy Bigley, Chair of Board of Directors, the panel was comprised of:

  • Kari Westlund, CEO and President of Travel Lane County,
  • Sheryl Balthrop, Executive Director of the Eugene Mission, and
  • Casey Roscoe, Sr. VP Public Relations of Seneca Sawmill Co.

Each panelist shared their unique perspectives and past experiences that lead them to their present positions in leadership, with the resonating theme being that people should embrace risk when following their passion.

Members of the audience are still commenting over a week later about the diversity of the panel in their communication styles, how organic the conversation flowed, and their ability to connect to each speaker in different ways. Kari, Sheryl, and Casey all urged listeners to trust their own instincts, embrace risk, and be authentic about one’s self, and it was clear that this message resonated with many. This event was a great opportunity to develop and learn from leaders in the local community.
