Applicants Needed for Springfield Library Board Position

The City of Springfield is seeking applications for three volunteer positions on the Springfield Library Advisory Board. The deadline for application is 5 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019. The chosen applicants will complete a term that ends December 31, 2023. 

Applications are available at the City Manager’s Office in City Hall, 225 Fifth Street and at the Library located at the same address inside City Hall. Applications can also be accessed at http://www.springfield-or.gov/city/city-managers-office/boards-commissions-and-committees/. Applicants will be invited to attend an Advisory Board meeting at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020. The Mayor and City Council who will conduct interviews at 5:30 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2020 at the work session.

The Springfield Library Advisory Board acts as a citizen sounding board on current library services including review of policies and procedures.  It also participates in the Library’s strategic planning process and future development of services in Springfield including both facilities and funding strategies. Springfield is a diverse community, persons of all ages, ethnic and religious backgrounds, gender and sexual orientation are encouraged to apply. The Board meets the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall.
