In 2018, The Arc Lane County partnered with Lane County businesses and churches to provide holiday presents to more than 700 children, teens and adults who experience disabilities, and we plan to fulfill even more gifts this year!

What is the Tree of Joy?

The Tree of Joy is a special project between The Arc Lane County and businesses, local stores, community members, and churches that provides gifts to adults and children who experience I/DD. This project originated between The Arc and Church of the Resurrection more than ten years ago, with dedication to ensure every person with I/DD can experience the joy of Christmas.

How does it work?

The Arc Lane County screens and qualifies gift requestors for eligibility, and a tag is then placed on a Tree of Joy at participating locations. Community members and participating organizations take the tag and purchase the desired gift and bring it to a Tree of Joy location. The Arc Lane County then collects, wraps, and distributes all the gifts before Christmas.

Because of this program, more than 700 individuals will receive a gift this Christmas.

Our mission is to ensure every person’s Tree of Joy gift request is fulfilled this holiday season, and we will succeed thanks to great people like you. These Trees of Joy gift tags will be displayed from approximately from mid. November – December 12, and gifts will be handed out at our community holiday parties starting on December 18th.

If your business would like to spread holiday joy this season, at no cost to you, your business can host a Tree of Joy for your employees and/or customers.
