Next Evolution: The Bottom Line

For decades the Springfield Chamber has regularly updated its membership on Chamber and business happenings through its newsletter The Bottom Line, published at the beginning of each month. In its early days The Bottom Line was a few pages, printed and mailed. In the mid-2000s the Chamber began distributing the newsletter via email. After eliminating the cost of printing and mailing, the publication grew. Over the next 15 years the publication evolved from a few pages to a full 24-page business magazine.

The Bottom Line now contains in-depth articles each month, authored by both staff and members. Regular topics include legislative affairs, economic development, member announcements, programs and events, and a wide variety of Chamber updates. With more robust content and relevance to a broader audience, Chamber staff determined that the time for The Bottom Line’s next evolution had come.

Beginning with this edition – April 2019 – The Bottom Line is now a fully online magazine. As a web-based publication the new format is more searchable, tag-able and shareable. The content is easily viewed on all devices, from mobile to PC. In addition, the Chamber is now able to publish content throughout the month, creating a more responsive opportunity for member businesses to share their stories, information and events.

The Chamber looks forward to fostering a more informed and connected business community around this new Bottom Line. For more information contact Robert Killen* at the Springfield Chamber, robert@springfield-chamber.org or 541-746-1651.
