At the intersection of clinical knowledge and operational strategy, Keeli Brown is helping healthcare practices thrive behind the scenes. As the founder and owner of Pawsitive Healthcare Management Solutions, Keeli leads a growing consulting firm that supports medical providers with everything from billing and credentialing to workflow design and staff training. The Springfield Chamber spoke with Keeli about how her hands-on experience across nearly every corner of healthcare shaped her business philosophy—and how Pawsitive’s people-first, detail-driven approach is giving clinics the tools they need to run smoothly, efficiently, and with confidence.

Tell us a little about Pawsitive Healthcare Management Solutions.
Pawsitive Healthcare Management Solutions is a consulting and operations support company dedicated to helping healthcare organizations run smarter, cleaner, and more efficiently. We specialize in behavioral health, home health, and multi specialty practices, offering hands on expertise in billing, credentialing, compliance, workflow optimization, and administrative operations. Our brand blends professionalism with warmth — inspired by my dog, Hercules — because we believe healthcare can be both high quality and human-centered.

How did you get started in your industry?
I began my healthcare career at 18 as a CNA and later a CMA. I spent several years as a medical assistant in oncology before moving into skilled nursing, where I advanced through multiple roles — staffing coordinator, central supply manager, social worker, business office manager, and ultimately administrator.

While working full time as a CNA and CMA, I was putting myself through college, earning a BS in Social Work and Criminal Justice and then an MBA in Healthcare Administration. After completing my degrees, I continued expanding my experience by working in the medical clinic at the Lane County Jail and later serving as the Director of Health and Management, teaching healthcare administration at a local college prior to COVID.

Pawsitive Healthcare Management Solutions began as Keeli’s Journey, a blog I started after developing significant autoimmune issues that required me to rethink how I worked and find a way to contribute from home. Over the past 2.5 years, that small blog has grown into a thriving consulting firm with clients across Oregon and the country, a growing team, and a steady stream of new challenges and accomplishments. It’s been an unexpected path, but one that blends my clinical background, administrative expertise, and passion for helping organizations succeed.

What services do you offer, and what makes Pawsitive Healthcare Management Solutions different?
We specialize in full, end‑to‑end revenue cycle management for healthcare organizations. Our services include daily billing, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and comprehensive accounts receivable oversight. We also provide credentialing and payer enrollment support, workflow optimization, policy development, and staff training to strengthen operational consistency and compliance.

What sets Pawsitive Healthcare Management Solutions apart is our hands‑on, partnership‑driven approach. We don’t just clean up a backlog or fix a single issue — we build sustainable systems that improve accuracy, efficiency, and financial performance long‑term. Our background spans clinical, administrative, and leadership roles, giving us a unique ability to understand the full picture of how a practice operates. Every solution is tailored, practical, and designed to empower teams with clarity and confidence. And of course, our Hercules‑inspired branding brings a touch of personality to the process, reminding teams that healthcare operations can be both effective and approachable.

What do you like most about your work?
I love helping organizations transform chaos into clarity. There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking a team that feels overwhelmed and giving them tools, structure, and confidence. I also love the creative side — building resources, designing workflows, and creating materials that make people feel supported and capable. Seeing staff light up when something finally “clicks” is the best part of what I do.

I also love helping providers start their own practice. When someone comes to me with a dream and a goal, I take pride in turning that vision into something real. Whether it’s filing for an LLC or PLLC, setting up a business bank account, getting QuickBooks started, completing all credentialing, choosing the right EHR, or building out the entire revenue cycle from day one, I handle the details so they can focus on patient care. My favorite role is when all my providers have to do is see their patients and complete their notes — and I take it from there. Helping someone launch a practice they’ve always wanted is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.

Any advice for others?
Don’t underestimate the power of strong operations. Great clinical care can’t shine without solid administrative foundations. Invest in your systems early, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to bring in help before things become urgent. And most importantly, build processes that are clear, repeatable, and empowering for your team.
