ShelterCare Announces New Executive Director

ShelterCare announced today that its board of directors has unanimously chosen Jennifer DeVault (she/her) as the organization’s next executive director.

DeVault will relieve Dana Petersen-Crabb, the organization’s current Interim executive director, on January 13, 2025. Petersen-Crabb will return to her role as Senior Director of Housing Services.



Board President, Chris Page, spoke on the selection of DeVault as the new executive director. “After an exhaustive search process, the ShelterCare board of directors is excited to announce that Jennifer DeVault has accepted our offer to be the next executive director of ShelterCare. We are excited about Jennifer’s vision for the future of the agency and her collaborative focus, and we look forward to working with Jennifer toward fulfilling our mission to provide our participants with housing and behavioral health services to achieve safe and stable housing situations.”

DeVault holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado, a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado Denver. DeVault has been with ShelterCare since April of 2024, serving as the senior director of Behavioral Health Programs. Previous to her role at ShelterCare, DeVault was the behavioral health director for Options Counseling, where she provided oversight to multiple clinics in Lane County.
