Cheers to everyone who joined us June 9th for the Business After Hours hosted by Alvord-Taylor! These events bring many of our business members and community leaders together to catch up with old friends, meet new people, and of course have a whole lot of fun. It also gives us the chance to highlight some great businesses around town. Thank you to Tavern on Main for catering, and Vollara Air Scrubbers, First American Title, The Arc Lane County, The Chronicle, and Oregon22 for tabling at the event. We’ll see you all at the next business after hours September 8th, at Budget Blinds in Springfield! For those who joined us, we hope you had the chance to speak with the staff and board members of Alvord-Taylor to learn more about this incredible organization in our community. You can read more about their story from Executive Director, Mark Herbert, below.

Since 1974 Alvord-Taylor, Inc. has been committed to serving the adult developmentally disabled community in Lane County, we began that journey in Springfield so we are pleased and proud to return to our roots.

Our goal and driving vision are to provide the highest quality of life and inclusion for the people we serve- we call that Endless Possibilities.

In addition to serving our clients we also want to educate the community at large about our individuals and to play a role in converting the way we look at that population from people with a disability to people with a different ability.

We support our mission through 16 group homes located throughout the Eugene-Springfield area, with the majority of our homes being in Springfield, and supporting other individuals with less significant physical or developmental challenges in their own homes through our Supported Living Program.

Although we may be under the radar screen a bit supporting our served population involves almost 200 employees ranging from direct care providers (Direct Service Professionals) through management and administrative support staff.

We are proud to be a member of the Springfield community. Our employees live and work here and we are committed to working with local businesses and organizations to fulfill our mission.

We deeply appreciate the support of the Springfield Chamber and the business community for joining us at the BAH and giving us a chance to share our story and continue to build relationships and opportunities to collaborate.

Mark F. Herbert

Executive Director
