High Risk status allows pool reopening in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD – On March 8, Willamalane Park and Recreation District will reopen Willamalane Park Swim Center (1276 G St, Springfield).

Visitors will reserve time in advance and follow safety protocols while inside the facility. Reservations will be available two weeks in advance and are dependent on Lane County staying below the Extreme Risk category in current guidelines. Registration opens on March 3 and is available online at willamalane.org/wpsc or by calling 541-736-4080.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming back our staff and community to the swim center,” said Brandon Lemcke, Aquatics Program Manager. “For many, the pool is one of the only places they can safely and comfortably exercise.”

Willamalane Park Swim Center offers an eight-lane lap pool, a warm-water pool, a deep-water pool with diving boards, locker rooms, and an adult spa. The aquatic facility also has two dedicated ADA lifts to help patrons into and out of the water.

Other programming is limited due to current health guidelines and capacity limits. As restrictions ease, additional programming, like swim lessons, recreation swims, and fitness classes, and amenities, like the water slide and shared equipment, will become available.
