December 22nd, 2020 was a cold and dry Tuesday: the holidays were upon us, a chaotic year coming to a close and Judy Clark, Elora Kelsh and Phil Morton of the Springfield Chamber staff hit the streets to spread a little holiday cheer.

Alongside a few generous donations from Plank Town Brewing Company and Lithia Toyota of Springfield, the Chamber decided to #ShopSmall even further and purchased a number of gift cards from local business to give away away to lucky patrons in all part of Springfield. We thought it would be a good way to say goodbye to a challenging year, express our gratitude to a resilient community, and make a few people smile.

Congratulations to our winners!

1st winner: Justin won a gift card for Plank Town Brewing Company

2nd winner: Rebecca won a gift card for Roaring Rapids Pizza

3rd winner: Susan won a gift card for Chase Flowers & Gifts

4th winner: Natalie won a gift card for Ciao Pizza

5th winner: Nancy won a gift card for Vinnie’s BBQ

An additional item worth noting: we had a number of people turn us down, with a smile and a thank you, saying, “I’m doing okay right now, please give it to someone more in need.” This warms the heart to see community members looking out for one another and acknowledging that it’s important to help those less fortunate than ourselves. It speaks to the holiday season, it speaks to the kindness of those individuals, and to the spirit of community in Springfield.

And now we turn our sights to the new year with open hearts and measured optimism. From all of us here at the Springfield Chamber,

Cheers to a successful and kind 2021!
