Springfield Grocery Outlet Bargain Market (160 S. 14th Street) concluded a very successfulIndependence from Hunger Drive during the month of July. Customers were given the option of purchasing pre-packaged bags of groceries throughout the days of the program and/or making a monetary donation. The bags of groceries were brought to the Springfield location of Catholic Community Services (CCS) for distribution in the food pantry. The $12,095.00 worth of food are now ready to serve the hungry children and families who use the services of CCS. In addition, a $500.00 donation was made to CCS which will be used to purchase needed shelving for food storage. Grocery Outlet owners, Tom and Tracy Hogan, (541.726.1306) are pleased to offer this drive each year with the goal of alleviating hunger among their neighbors in need.
