New Member Profile: MVM Construction & Remodel
Meet Marcelino Villegas, owner of MVM Construction & Remodel. To welcome them as a new member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, we recently spoke with Marcelino to find out more about him and the company.
Where and how did you get your start in the construction and remodel business?
I started working in construction in Albany, Oregon, in 2002. For five years I worked for a company framing houses. At one point, my brother opened a business doing granite and tile, and asked me if I wanted to make better money doing that work with him. My first daughter had just been born, so I didn’t have to think about it too much because I knew money was going to be crucial for my family. I was with my brother’s company for 12 years, until it closed. At that time, I decided to start my own business and use all the experience and knowledge I’d gained during all my years in the industry. That’s how MVM Construction & Remodel got started, and how we’ve come to have expertise in so many areas of the business.
What types of projects and services are offered by MVM Construction & Remodel?
The services we offer are interior and exterior paint, siding, window and door replacement, full kitchen remodeling, installation of tile and cultured stone, bathroom remodeling, drywall, textured plaster, dry rot repairs, finish carpentry (window and door trim), patio covers, pavers and concrete, small building framing, plus everything else that falls under general contracting work.
What makes MVM Construction & Remodel unique?
Detail is of utmost importance to us, and we bring much attention to detail in all our work to ensure quality. We have passion for what we do, and strive for customer satisfaction. We walk our customers through every step of the project so they can have an opinion on even the smallest details. Many times our customers are also looking for ideas on how exactly something could be done, and what is actually possible. This is where I use my experience to explore what is possible, which many times gives our customers new ideas for the project!
What do you like most about your work?
I like meeting new customers and creating confidence that the job will be done with quality and proper attention. When the job is complete, I enjoy walking through the final project and seeing everything from their vision come to reality. I really like getting positive feedback – that a project came out better than what was expected – and also, getting things done they didn’t know were possible.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Customer satisfaction is very important to us. We always keep everything clean on the job, have great respect for the customer’s house and property, and try to do the work as quietly and low impact as possible. We get to the scheduled jobs on time, and get the jobs done on time!
