Social Media Workshops
Springfield Chamber partners with Pony House Inn on social media marketing trainings
The Springfield Chamber partnered with the Pony House Inn this spring to provide three training sessions for those interested in using social media as a tool for small businesses. “I’m on a mission to use these tools better over the next couple of years,” said Nancie Koerber, owner of the Pony House Inn. Nancie presented the first session herself, covering Alignable, a new business-focused platform, and how to best use it to connect with other businesses in your area.
Held in the Pony House Inn’s new event space, the next two sessions featured Springfield Chamber staff as speakers. Robert Killen, outgoing Director of Membership Development, covered Facebook for small business, focusing on Facebook’s strength as a events and advertising source and network builder. The last course was also presented by the membership team from the Chamber, with Max Molzahn digging into leveraging Instagram. This final session covered a range of topics from creating a business profile on Instagram, to creatively using features such as stories, hashtags, and tagging posts.
Moving forward, Koerber and the Pony House inn will look to continue learning by hosting informal meet-ups. These lunch meetings will organically cover tech questions in a conversational style, rather than a narrow, formalized course. The brown bag luncheons will bring groups together to provide support for those still learning about the use of these tools. Upcoming is a FREE meet up on using the Alignable Network. Join the group at the Pony House Inn on June 28, Friday, at Noon and bring your brown bag lunch. If you’ll be attending, please Click here to register.
