High School Career Connect

March 20th, 2019 marked another great year for High School Career Connect at Springfield High School. 11th and 12th graders from the Springfield Public School District were given the opportunity to connect with employers and higher education institutions to jumpstart their future careers. 60 local companies participated by showcasing their businesses, sharing industry information, and speaking with students about jobs, internships, job shadows and apprenticeships. Breakout sessions included workshops in navigating apprenticeships and internships, and advice from hiring managers. Connecting students with future career opportunities helps improve graduation rates and strengthen the workforce pool; businesses, schools, and the city all agree.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this event, and to our sponsors:

Giustina Resources, KEZI 9 News, Lane Community College, Leahy Cox LLP, Murphy, Royal Caribbean International, Purakal Cylinders, Chambers Construction, Priority One Heating and Air Conditioning, and Columbia Bank.
