Peacehealth Rides On Display
Submitted by Sherri Buri McDonald, PeaceHealth
PeaceHealth supports and celebrates the health and wellness of our community. That’s why we made the decision to be the title sponsor of PeaceHealth Rides, our area’s first bike share system, and why we’re stepping up our involvement with the Eugene Marathon, coming soon on April 28.
PeaceHealth is continuing our long tradition of managing and staffing the race’s medical tents. But this year, as the marathon’s exclusive health care sponsor, we’re gearing up to play an even bigger role for the entire marathon weekend. Click here for the complete schedule of marathon weekend events.
More than 100 of our caregivers –many of them based at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield – have signed up to run the 5K on Saturday, April 27, as members of Team PeaceHealth. And PeaceHealth Oregon’s Chief Executive Mary Kingston will hand out the 5K awards on Saturday morning.
PeaceHealth also will host our exciting “Run, Ride and Rejuvenate” booths at the Health & Wellness Expo at Lane Events Center on Friday, April 26, and Saturday April 27, and at the Finish Festival at Autzen Stadium on Sunday, April 28.
Stop by to learn more about PeaceHealth Rides, a network of 300 bikes, 38 stations in Eugene, plus a station at Sacred Heart at RiverBend. The bike-share system is a fun, healthy and convenient way to explore the community. It’s a partnership between the city of Eugene, University of Oregon, Lane Transit District and Social Bicycles by JUMP Bikes.
Check out the PeaceHealth Rides bikes on display at our booth. We’ll have a special-edition marathon-themed bike, decorated with colorful art inspired by the landmarks along the race route, and a surprise birthday-themed bike in honor of PeaceHealth Rides’ first birthday. While you’re there, celebrate with us! Blender bikes will be whipping up smoothies. We’ll be handing out smoothie samples, cake pops and plenty of giveaways. All of us are lucky to live in such a scenic, dynamic area, and PeaceHealth is honored to take part in activities, like PeaceHealth Rides and the Eugene Marathon, that enhance and strengthen our community.
