I can’t write a novel in a month, can I?

Get ready for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) with Wordcrafters in Eugene and the Springfield Public Library

Are you planning to write an entire novel in November for NaNoWriMo? If so, come to an online class at 6 p.m., Monday, October 18 to learn some new tips and tricks. Each year the Springfield Public Library teams up with Wordcrafters in Eugene to provide ‘starting block’ of writer’s tools to help NaNoWriMo participants. Wordcrafters’ Director Daryll Lynne Evans said, “Whether you’re a plotter or a pantser, this fast-paced plotting mashup gives you more than a mere outline. Using Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey 3-act structure, and a screen-writing card trick, you will learn how structure works as the framework of your story, and you’ll get tools to plan out your novel ahead of time or guide your story discovery as you go.” Wordcrafters and Springfield Public Library will then team up again to provide virtual Come Write In sessions from 2-4 p.m., every Saturday in November. These sessions are a great help in getting your word count up and joining with other like-minded writers.

The workshop is provided by Wordcrafters in Eugene and will be presented by Ms. Evans who began her writing career as a playwright with the Performing Arts Conservatory in Colorado, where she also taught theatre and play writing to youth. She has an MFA in fiction from Purdue University.

All events are free and open to the community.
