Upcoming Lane County Special Election and Willamalane Board seats
SPRINGFIELD – On May 18, 2021, Lane County’s Special Election will elect three positions on Willamalane Park and Recreation District’s Board of Directors. Open positions include:
- Director, At-large Position 1 4-year term
- Director, At-large Position 2 4-year term
- Director, At-large Position 3 4-year term
The deadline for any eligible candidate to file to run with Lane County is 3/18/21. For more details, please see the attached release or visit Willamalane.org/board.
The Willamalane Board is made up of five members elected by voters who reside within the district boundaries of Springfield, Oregon.
Willamalane is a special tax district which was formed to administer park and recreation services within Springfield. The Board is designated as the governing body for the district and has legislative and administrative authority. The Board also sets policy which provides direction for all Willamalane staff and provides direct oversight of the superintendent.
Any eligible candidates (candidates must reside within Willamalane’s district boundaries) can file to run with Lane County using this application: SEL 190 Candidate Filing District form.
Important dates:
- 02/08/21 – First day to file candidacy forms
- 03/18/21 – Last day to file candidacy forms, by 5:00 p.m.
- 03/22/21 – Submission deadline for Voters’ Pamphlet
- 04/27/21 – Last day to register to vote
- 04/28/21 – First day to mail ballots
- 05/04/21 – Last day to mail ballots
- 05/18/21 – Election Day
