The Chronicle opens Springfield office!

The Chronicle – a weekly paper serving the southern Willamette Valley – has expanded into Springfield with an office at 655 A St., Suite C. While the paper has included coverage of Springfield since August 2019, the opening represents an even greater commitment to filling a need in the community with hyper-local news.
“So many people from Springfield reached out to us asking for us to bring our unique approach to community journalism,” said Noel Nash, publisher and co-owner. “Other newspapers treat news like a commodity; we offer unique-and-differentiating news because it covers what no one else does – family, friends, neighbors, education and small businesses.”
Noel and his wife, Denise, purchased The Creswell Chronicle in February 2019; it was renamed The Chronicle on Aug. 29, 2019. The weekly newspaper, founded in 1909, is part of a larger operation that includes www.chronicle1909.com, Emerald Valley Magazine and the Creswell Chamber of Commerce’s annual newcomers and visitors guide.

“We’re excited about telling great stories, covering news and further highlighting the people and local businesses of Springfield,” Noel said. “Vonnie Mikkelsen (Springfield Chamber President & CEO) was instrumental in not only helping us make this decision, but locating our new office just a block off Main St. in historic downtown.”
