DOWNTOWN SPRINGFIELD PARKING ENFORCEMENT

Share:

To Our Downtown Patrons, Residents, Businesses, and Parkers,

The City of Springfield will temporarily modify our Downtown Springfield parking program activities. Please see the list of these modifications below and feel free to contact our parking staff with any questions. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Our priority at this time is the health of our community and allowing you to make the personal decisions necessary to maintain your health and ours.

  • Suspension of all active enforcement of on-street and surface parking areas in time-restricted and permit only locations. If you are parking within a designated ADA space, please maintain display of your ADA placards or plates at all times. All time restrictions will be temporarily waived.
  • Closure of our Park Downtown Physical Office to public walk-in support. We have encouraged our parking staff to work remotely during this time for their health and yours and they are making this transition now.
  • Customer support by email, online or over the phone. Should you have any questions about your parking permit during this time, where to park, temporary modifications to our program, or how to manage outstanding parking citations, please contact our office by:
  • City Curbside Pick-Up Parking Spaces should be maintained for curb-side pickup and delivery use only. Please refrain from parking your vehicle in any of these locations, which are placed around Downtown, for an extended period of time while we work to support our Downtown businesses under modified operations.

Please continue to utilize our Downtown parking resources in thoughtful and effective ways. Should you determine that ‘staying home’ is your best course of action and you live in Downtown, we encourage you to park your vehicle properly and safely in a legal parking space.  Take care to avoid locations which may be directly used by one of our Downtown businesses or restaurants continuing to serve the public. While we will not be enforcing time restrictions in most locations, we will still be monitoring use of the City posted curb-side pick-up spaces.

Lastly, please know that we are working to support the community in allowing for necessary changes to your daily activities and routines. When it is determined that enforcement and regular services are to be resumed, the Parking Program will provide ample communication as well as a temporary window of warning issuance to ensure parkers and patrons are aware.

Please feel free to reach out to our parking staff should you have any questions. If they do not answer the phone immediately, please leave a voicemail or email and they will respond as quickly as possible. We thank you for being part of our Downtown Community and we look forward to serving you as always.

Sincerely,

Courtney Griesel
