Peter DeFazio to be Honored with Trail System Dedication

Willamalane Park and Recreation District will host a dedication of the Peter DeFazio Trail System at Thurston Hills Natural Area on December 7, 2023, at 2 p.m. The trail has been named in honor of Congressman Peter DeFazio, recognizing his dedicated advocacy for protecting our region’s natural resources and his contributions to the development and long-term wellness of Willamalane parks.

• Location: The North Trailhead at Thurston Hills Natural Area, 7575 McKenzie Highway

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

• The dedication ceremony will officially name The Peter DeFazio Trail System.
• A short ceremony will precede the opportunity for attendees to explore and hike on the newly renamed trails.
• After the dedication ceremony, dignitaries will be available to speak with media members.
