Visual Opportunity June 6: Springfield to Install New Entryway Sign in Glenwood

The City of Springfield will be hosting an “installation event” of the new entryway sign in Glenwood. Media are encouraged to attend and get photos/video of the installation.

City elected officials, leaders and staff will join Urban Lumber Company Founder Seth San Filippo for the sign’s installation. 

What: West Springfield/Glenwood Entryway Sign Installation Event

Who: This event is being provided to local media as an opportunity to film/photograph the installation and interview project participants.

When: 9 a.m., Monday, June 6

Where:  Franklin Boulevard near Fairfield Inn and Suites. Media may turn on Jenkins Drive and use either the parking lot or gravel area to park and walk to site. See image below.


Background:

Springfield’s public art promotes a sense of community pride and provides a unique source of attraction for visitors. Public artwork also supports the Council’s goal to promote and enhance Springfield’s hometown feel while focusing on livability and environmental quality.

This West Springfield/Glenwood Entryway Sign is part of the City’s public art program. This piece’s installation is timed in advance of the World Athletics Championships Oregon 22 to welcome visitors from around the world to the Springfield community.
