PeaceHealth announces leadership transition in Oregon

PeaceHealth today announced that Dr. Jim McGovern is no longer serving as chief executive for the Oregon region, effective immediately.
“Following a period of administrative leave, we determined that a leadership change was in the best interest of the organization.”
– Sarah Ness, President and CEO, PeaceHealth
Heather Wall will continue in her established interim leadership role to ensure continuity, stability and uninterrupted operations across the Oregon region while PeaceHealth moves forward with recruitment for the chief executive role in Oregon.
“Together, as we shape our future, PeaceHealth leaders are entrusted to consistently bring our mission and values to life by creating environments where caregivers and partners feel seen, heard, supported and inspired to do their best work,” said Ness. “We remain focused on delivering high-quality, compassionate care and supporting our caregivers as we move forward together.”
About PeaceHealth
PeaceHealth, based in Vancouver, WA, is a non-profit Catholic health system offering care to communities in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. PeaceHealth has approximately 16,000 caregivers, nearly 3,200 physicians and clinicians, more than 160 clinics and 9 medical centers serving both urban and rural communities throughout the Northwest. In 1890, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace founded what has become PeaceHealth. The Sisters shared expertise and transferred wisdom from one medical center to another, always finding the best way to serve the unmet need for healthcare in their communities. Today, PeaceHealth is the legacy of the founding Sisters and continues with a spirit of respect, stewardship, collaboration and social justice in fulfilling its mission.
