Tell us about AIMS Mobile Nursing
Tammy Inglis-Drew: AIMS Mobile Nursing is a skilled nursing company – also considered a ‘concierge’ nursing company. What that means, is that we are operated independently. We do have a medical director that oversees our protocols and policies, but our goal is to provide excellent healthcare at a fraction of the cost you would get anywhere else.
How did you get started in your industry?
Tammy Inglis-Drew: I worked for a local hospital for 37 years, worked my way up, and during that time I saw that the healthcare system was definitely broken. My team and I decided that we could do it better if we took it to patients in their homes, so that’s when we decided to open AIMS mobile nursing.
Kevin Drew: I worked at a local hospital for about 28 years – most of that was in critical care – and it really helped me get a good knowledge base for being able to practice independently, out in peoples’ homes.
What services do you offer, and what makes AIMS Mobile Nursing unique?
Tammy Inglis-Drew: I think the thing that makes us most unique is our expertise in vascular access. We do peripherally inserted central lines, midlines, and we use ultrasound guidance to start IVs and do phlebotomy. That’s a pretty specialized art. What makes a difference with our company is that we only utilize registered nurses.
Kevin Drew: Another advantage with AIMS is that we can keep you from needing to go to the hospital if you can receive that treatment outside. Now, that’s not to say that there’s not numerous reasons to go to the hospital, but if it’s something as simple as having an IV put in and having medication administered…. You have to wait in the ER for a long time to have that happen.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
Tammy Inglis-Drew: There’s a lot of barriers in getting quality healthcare, and we get calls from patients that [say], “I don’t know what to do. I’ve called this place, I’ve called that place, and I’m just really not finding options that will work for me.” I love being able to take that challenge, and find something that works well for the patient, and they start healing.
Do you have any advice for others in your industry?
Kevin Drew: To anyone interested in doing any form of in-home care: develop a really good base of knowledge in your profession, whether that be physical therapy, respiratory therapy – any of the therapies – nursing, so that you have that experience to draw on when you’re in a situation where you don’t have anyone to ask questions to.
Is there anything else you would like to share about AIMS Mobile Nursing?
Tammy Inglis-Drew: We go to the doctor with you, we can interpret what the doctor is saying, make sure that it’s followed through, and challenge where challenges need to be made to make sure the patient is getting the quickest resolution to their needs.
“I feel like for the first time in my nursing career, I’m able to sit down with a patient and actually give them the care they deserve.”
– Kevin Drew, RN & Director of Nurses, AIMS Mobile Nursing
What has your experience been like as a member of the Springfield Chamber?
Tammy Inglis-Drew: It’s just been the greatest experience. Not only do they help us advocate in the community for small businesses, [and] for healthcare, but they also open doors and we’re able to connect with other business leaders to make Springfield a better place. It gives us validity in the business community – that we’re not just a fly-by-night healthcare company, we’re actually an important part of our community.
