Everyone Village to Host First-Ever Community Music Festival

Everyone Village will turn its West Eugene property into a community music festival this September, inviting people from across Lane County for a day of live music, food and family activities.

The inaugural Everyone Festival will take place Saturday, September 19 from 3:00 to 10:00pm. Organizers are preparing to welcome more than 2,000 people to the event, which they hope will become an annual Eugene tradition.

More than a music festival, the event is an opportunity to bring the broader community directly into Everyone Village and offer a closer look at the people, programs, and partnerships behind the transitional shelter community.

Four bands are scheduled to perform: Joel Chadd, The Gents, Natsukashii Soul, and headliner Candy Apple Bleu. The festival will also include food carts, a kids’ corner, family activities, and information on other nonprofit organizations.

The property includes a welcome center, resource center, workshop, and recycling center, along with shared facilities and programs supporting workforce development, mental health, and recovery.

The festival will offer attendees the opportunity to see the village up close and learn how it provides services and resources intended to help residents move toward greater stability and permanent housing.

“We want to bring the entire community and our partners, our friends, our neighbors, and those who just want to have a wonderful night of good music with artists like Candy Apple Bleu to let our hair down, enjoy each other, and get to know each other better, so that we’re a tighter community for all the work we have ahead of us to make Eugene the best, most flourishing city,” said Piechowicz.

The event comes as Everyone Village continues to look toward its next phase of growth, including plans for permanent tiny homes, expanded workforce development opportunities, and additional housing efforts.

Festival organizers are also incorporating sustainability into the event, with plans for reusable serviceware and local water stations designed to reduce waste.

Proceeds from the Everyone Festival will support the continued work and growth of Everyone Village.

“Celebrating what’s best about Eugene, which is us together, coming across divides, across spectrums,” said Piechowicz. “To say good music is for everybody, the festival is for everybody, and we’re better together.”
