The Springfield Public Library invites the community to a free screening of Free for All: The Public Library, a documentary exploring the evolution, impact, and continued relevance of America’s public library system.

The event will take place at 6:00pm on Thursday, September 18, at the Richard E. Wildish Community Theater, 630 Main Street in downtown Springfield.

This special screening is hosted by the Springfield Library Foundation and the Friends of the Springfield Public Library and History Museum. The film offers a thoughtful look at how libraries have adapted over time to serve changing community needs and highlights the role they play in supporting lifelong learning, access to information, and civic engagement.
