The Springfield Arts Commission invites the community to experience Keys to the Realm, a fiber arts exhibition by Oregon artist Candace Hunter, on display June 1 through June 30 at the City Hall Gallery inside Springfield City Hall, 225 Fifth Street.

An artist reception will be held Friday, June 12, from 5:00 to 7:00pm as part of downtown Springfield’s Second Friday Art Walk. The event is free and open to the public and will feature light refreshments and live music by Stereo Minds.

Hunter works primarily in fiber, exploring the expressive possibilities of natural materials including cotton and wool. A significant part of her artistic process involves dyeing her own fabrics and developing layered surfaces through mark-making and textile manipulation. Her work reflects a balance of craftsmanship, experimentation, and creative discovery.

Located adjacent to the Springfield Public Library, the City Hall Gallery serves as a welcoming community space during Second Friday Art Walks. The gallery provides opportunities for artists to share their work, engage with the public, and contribute to Springfield’s vibrant arts scene.

The exhibition will remain on display throughout June during regular City Hall hours.
