Connect Lane Expands to Four Routes

In May 2025, the Aufderheide Scenic Bikeway was officially designated as Oregon’s 18th scenic bikeway. Long before earning that title, it held the distinction of being the first route in the region designated under Connect Lane—a network of cycling routes designed to connect local communities and showcase the natural beauty of the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region while keeping riders off busy state highways.
Two new segments were added this spring, linking Cottage Grove to Creswell and Creswell to Eugene. With four signed routes now available, cyclists can choose between fully paved paths or mixed paved-and-gravel experiences.
Lane Transit District offers car-free travel options that make it easy for cyclists to reach several Connect Lane starting points and begin their adventure:
- Connect Lane 1 – LTD Route 91 McKenzie Bridge
- Connect Lane 2 – LTD Diamond Express Oakridge
- Connect Lane 3 & 4 – LTD Route 98 Cottage Grove
Additional shuttle options are available through Travel Lane County transportation members.
Connect Lane routes vary in difficulty, so it’s important to review Bike Safety & Local Riding Tips before setting out.
