Human Trafficking and Youth: Affecting the Unhoused and Beyond
A Teen Program at Springfield Public Library
What is human trafficking and how does it affect teens locally? At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29in the Library Meeting Room at the Springfield Public Library, join the in-person Teen Tuesday event and learn the answers to these questions and more. This event is for teens ages 12+ and is free.
A guest from Looking Glass, a local organization that helps teens in crisis, will come to present and discuss the issues of human trafficking. Teens will have a safe space to learn about this topic, ask questions, and get answers. Many local teens don’t know what human trafficking is, or if they do that it occurs locally.
For other members of the community looking to learn more about this topic, you can join the Human Trafficking Awareness Panel Discussion at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 in the Library Meeting Room at Springfield Public Library. At this discussion Lane County Sexual Assault Support Services, Looking Glass, Springfield Police Department, and local FBI agents will present.
Follow the Springfield Public Library on Facebook, check out the library website, or reach out to Teen Services Librarian Cara Kinsey for more information about ongoing library offerings for teens, including: free online tutoring, weekly programs, monthly book club, and volunteer opportunities. Thanks to the Teen Advisory Board for helping choose our program lineup!
