Local Hotels Receive Recognition from FEMA for Fire Response & Support during Holiday Farm Fire

(Springfield, OR) – Two hotels managed by Mereté Hotel Management received top marks from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for their response to the Holiday Farm Fire. The Courtyard by Marriott Eugene/Springfield and the La Quinta by Wyndham Springfield, both located in the Gateway Area of Springfield, received a certificate of “Recognition and Appreciation” from FEMA’s National Urban, Search & Rescue Response System.
The two hotels hosted Incident Support Team – Red during FEMA’s response to the Oregon State Wildfires in September. The certificate was presented to each hotel “For the outstanding customer service, professionalism and generous hospitality extended to the members of the Department of Homeland Security FEMA Urban, Search and Rescue Incident Support Team & Task Forces during search and support efforts.” FEMA went on to extend their “deepest compassion” for the impacts our community and citizens have suffered, wishing our community “strength and speed” in our recovery.
