EUGENE, Ore. – Lynne Mumaw, GNP, RN, MS, recently received the 2019 America’s Top NP award from the Point of Care Network, the largest network of nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the United States.
Mumaw, a gerontological nurse practitioner, has practiced as a primary care provider for the past 9 years at the Senior Health and Wellness Center at PeaceHealth Medical Group’s Barger Clinic in Eugene. She also gives community educational lectures to Alzheimer’s support groups and community care providers in the Eugene-Springfield area.
Mumaw said she enjoys teaching her patients about their health conditions and working to form a partnership to help them reach their goals.
“My passion has been taking care of older adults since my undergraduate nursing program,” she said.
In her free time, Mumaw practices yoga and recently started regular meditation practice. She also has begun a regular walking exercise program.
“Movement helps everyone’s health and I intend to practice what I preach,” she said.
Point of Care Network (POCN) is the largest network of nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) in the United States and honors just 10 NPs a year for this award.
The nominating process started in March allowing NPs and PAs to nominate a fellow NP who demonstrates excellence in patient care, professional and practice development, and community outreach and involvement.
