ShelterCare Behavioral Health becomes Willow Path Counseling; now accepting new clients in the midst of a mental healthcare shortage

In August 2024, the Health Resources and Services Administration published the State of the Behavioral Health Workforce. It shows that more than one third (122 million) of the U.S. population lives in a Mental Health Professional Shortage Area. Rural counties are more likely than urban counties to lack behavioral health providers.
Most people know ShelterCare for our housing programs, but we are excited to announce that we are addressing the mental health provider shortage across Lane County, as our Willow Path Counseling clinic is open to the general public and we are accepting new clients.
We hope this rebrand from ShelterCare Behavioral Health to Willow Path Counseling will make it clear that we are not only a housing services provider, but also a mental health clinic. We provide outpatient behavioral health services to individuals who are negatively affected by a mental health condition. While our team can support most mental health conditions, they have a specialty in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma or stress related to being unhoused. We offer in-person and telehealth services, open to anyone ages 14+ on OHP living in Lane County, from Florence to Oakridge to Blue River.
