Upcoming Meeting of the Springfield Housing and Design Technical Advisory Committee

UPDATE 7/29 – The City of Springfield has canceled the upcoming Housing and Design Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 2025. The meeting was set to continue discussion on thematic concepts to guide updates to the Springfield Development Code. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the meeting has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a future date.
Future meeting details will be shared on the City’s website and social media channels once confirmed. Community members are encouraged to stay informed through the project webpage: bit.ly/HousingDesignInitiative and the City’s Events Calendar.

The Technical Advisory Committee for the City of Springfield’s “Housing and Design Initiative – a Code and Plan Update Project” will hold its second meeting on Wednesday, July 30.
The majority of the meeting will continue discussion of how to approach updates to the Springfield Development Code. This time, the focus will be on thematic concepts (options) for whether and how much to update certain Code sections. The purpose of the concepts stage of the project is to guide upcoming work this fall when the team will start early drafts of specific language changes.

The meeting location is wheelchair accessible. For the hearing impaired, an interpreter can be provided with 48 hours’ notice. Community members can observe the meeting, but staff will not take public comments or questions at the meeting. Meeting materials, including the agenda, will be available for review the week before the meeting at springfieldoregonspeaks.org.

About the Technical Advisory Committee
Springfield’s Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI) appointed the Technical Advisory Committee on May 20, 2025. You can view the CCI’s discussion and more information about Committee members at https://springfieldoregonspeaks.org/items/523.
This 17-member Committee advises staff (but does not formally vote) on matters related to updating the Springfield Development Code and adopted land use plans. This Committee is project-based and will no longer meet in this capacity upon project completion in 2026.
