About May is Bike Month
Nationally celebrated by the League of American Bicyclists since 1956, and in Lane County since 2014, Bike Month showcases the many benefits of biking and invites more folks to give it a try. Community members are encouraged to get out and ride for fun and exercise as well as for essential errands and trips throughout May. Whether you bike to work or school; ride to save money or time; pump those pedals to preserve your health or the environment; or simply to explore your community, Bike Month is an opportunity to celebrate the unique power of the bicycle and the many reasons we ride. Besides rides and events hosted by dozens of local businesses and organizations this is also a month for the community to organize your own rides and events. You can post your event to the Community Bike Calendar and it will promote through the May is Bike Month outreach and social media!
