Leadership Eugene Springfield Project Group Launches Supply Drive to Support Relief Nursery Families

The Health and Human Services project group from the 2025–26 Leadership Eugene-Springfield (LES) cohort is partnering with Relief Nursery to host a community-wide Lice Kit Supply Drive throughout the month of March. The effort aims to collect essential lice treatment supplies and monetary donations to help ensure families served by Relief Nursery have access to these critical health resources at no cost.
The drive runs March 1st – 31st and invites community members to donate either online or by bringing supplies directly to Relief Nursery in Eugene.
Access to lice treatment supplies can make a significant difference for families already navigating financial stress or other barriers. Donations will help Relief Nursery assemble kits that can be distributed to families and used in classrooms when needed. Even small contributions can make an impact: a $10 donation helps purchase essential treatment supplies, while $20 can cover the cost of a full lice treatment kit.
Community members can donate online through Relief Nursery’s website by selecting the Leadership Eugene Springfield Lice Kit Project from the donation dropdown. Donations can be made HERE.
In addition to monetary contributions, the project group is also collecting physical supply donations. Items may be dropped off directly at Relief Nursery, located at 1720 West 25th Avenue in Eugene.
Requested supplies include:
Full lice treatment kits | Nit combs | Lice shampoos or treatment gels | Lice furniture spray | Disposable gloves | Garbage bags
The project is one of several community service initiatives undertaken by participants in the Leadership Eugene-Springfield program. Each year, LES cohorts collaborate on projects that address real needs across the Eugene-Springfield region while building leadership, collaboration, and civic engagement skills.
This year’s Health and Human Services project group, which is leading the supply drive, has a stated goal to reduce barriers for families and support the health and well-being of children served by Relief Nursery.
Leadership Eugene-Springfield is a joint program of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce. Since 1986, the program has helped cultivate community leaders by providing participants with deeper insight into the region’s economic, civic, and nonprofit sectors through monthly, day-long sessions focused on key community issues.
Through initiatives like the Relief Nursery Supply Drive, LES participants gain hands-on experience addressing community challenges while strengthening partnerships between businesses, nonprofits, and civic organizations.
Community members interested in supporting the project are encouraged to donate online or contribute supplies before March 31st.
