First Story and Hayden Homes Partner to Provide Affordable Homeownership Opportunities to Local Families

The nonprofit First Story is inviting families to apply to own a home through a unique partnership with Oregon-based builder Hayden Homes. Through this partnership, First Story will provide a 30-year, zero-interest loan that requires no down payment or specific credit score on a new Hayden Home.

To date, 117 families in the Northwest have become homeowners through this program; and now, First Story is building a new home in Springfield in 2024 and is looking for a qualified family to achieve their dream of homeownership.

About the new Hayden Home
Woodland Ridge is located in the Thurston area of Springfield, tucked right behind bustling businesses, yet with a quiet and calm atmosphere. The First Story home features three beds, two baths, and a two-car garage, and will be sold with appliances, window blinds and full landscaping and fencing.

How to Get Started

  • Target families will have a gross Median Family Income (MFI) below 80% of the area median income; this relates to middle-income earners between $60,000-73,000 (three- to five-member household)
  • Must currently have no negative credit accounts or items in collections
  • Must currently live or work in Lane County
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident alien status (required for applicant(s) only)
  • Must be a first-time home buyer
