75 Years Later, Springfield Chamber Enjoying the Journey
In the wake of a full-fledged rebranding in 2023 – which included the new slogan, “We Open Doors”; a new logo and color palette; an updated website; and a new-look Springfield Magazine + Directory – the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce now builds on extraordinary momentum with a celebration of their 75th year in business.
That celebration continues with a professionally produced video that chronicles Springfield’s legacy, a gracious nod to its most loyal and longstanding members, and the announcement of a time capsule that will carry the legacy into the Chamber’s next major milestone – its 100th year – in 2049.
75 Years of Excellence
The six-and-a-half-minute legacy video, curated by Springfield Chamber staff and filmed, directed, and edited by local media company Brodon Creative Media, was shown for the first time at the Inspire Excellence Annual Awards, which was produced by the Chamber at the Wildish Theater in downtown Springfield on February 8. The show honored 2023’s best and brightest community leaders and celebrated excellence, achievement, and the milestone 75th anniversary of the Chamber’s establishment in 1949.
“This year marks an important milestone for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce; 75 years in quest of progress and prosperity; a time to acknowledge and celebrate a legacy defined by the trials, triumphs, teamwork, and tireless dedication of so many. And also, to refuel and reaffirm our commitment to strengthening, representing, and promoting business.”
– Vonnie Mikkelsen, President & CEO, Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce

Chamber Time Capsule
To commemorate this milestone year further, the Springfield Chamber has secured an actual time capsule – a sturdy, branded waterproof container that, once sealed, will house items of interest from 2024, and secure them in a location to be announced until its next major milestone anniversary – 100 years, in 2049. Stay tuned for dates, times, locations, and ways to participate. Congratulations to the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and here’s to another 25 years of service to business and the community!
