Chamber’s ‘Business After Hours’ Builds on its Reputation of Relaxed Networking at Ninkasi’s Better Living Room
On Thursday, June 15, the Springfield Chamber of Commerce hosted their quarterly Business After Hours event in the third-floor event space at Ninkasi’s Better Living Room (BLR). More than 140 attendees from the business community were treated to an evening of great grub, refreshing drinks, and an opportunity to network and explore the versatile event space.
The event was a great success, showcasing the Springfield Chamber’s ability to foster valuable connections within the business community, as well as Ninkasi’s exceptional offerings, including an eclectic menu and an incredible assortment of beers on tap. Additionally, the BLR houses a five-barrel Pilot Beer Brewery, where Ninkasi brews special releases and innovative, small-batch beers – these are available only at the BLR’s tasting room at 155 Blair Boulevard in Eugene.
Ninkasi’s events coordinator, Collin Cram, along with hospitality director Bryan Nelson, were excited to host the local business community. Cram spoke passionately about the vision behind the Better Living Room, which officially opened its doors in early 2020:

Pointing out a small rocket that hangs above the BLR bar, Bryan Nelson mentioned a very unique and notable fact to attendees – an homage to Ninkasi’s incredible feat of actually sending beer yeast into space, and using it in their Ground Control Imperial Stout. Descendants of this spacefaring yeast are still used and brewed in this stout to this day!
BUSINESS AFTER HOURS is a quarterly event designed to provide a relaxed, informal gathering of Chamber business members after regular business hours, to build on relationships and make new connections. The next Business After Hours event will take place September 14, 2023, at The Arc of Lane County.
