COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – Tim Herrmann, PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center chief administrative officer, recently received national recognition for his leadership for the fifth year in a row.

Herrmann was among 70 leaders of critical access hospitals nationwide recognized for strong records on safety and quality, according to Becker’s Healthcare, a nationally respected source of healthcare business news and information.

“I am humbled by this honor, which really is a recognition of our caregivers and their commitment to PeaceHealth’s Mission and practicing responsible stewardship,” Herrmann said. “I am grateful to work with such a dedicated and talented team.”

Under Herrmann’s leadership, Cottage Grove Community Medical Center repeatedly has received national recognition for excellence in care delivery and patient satisfaction.

Cottage Grove was the only medical center in Oregon to be a finalist for the Premier, Inc. QUEST® Award for High-Value Healthcare in 2019. In addition, the hospital received the Premier Supply Chain Excellence Award for superior supply expense performance in 2019.

“I am grateful to work with such a dedicated and talented team.”

Becker’s Healthcare also selected Cottage Grove as one of the “67 Critical Access Hospitals to Know” in 2019. Cottage Grove has been featured on this list for five years running.

Over his career at PeaceHealth, Herrmann has held a series of executive positions. He became trauma program coordinator of PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene in 1988. He was promoted to administrator and then to chief administrative officer of PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center in 2014.

Herrmann is the founding member and first president of the Oregon Rural Health Quality Network, an organization providing quality training and care coordination to rural and community hospitals and healthcare providers. Before he joined PeaceHealth, Herrmann was a staff nurse and trauma program coordinator at Queen’s Medical Center, based in Honolulu.
