Upcoming Meeting: Springfield Housing and Design Technical Advisory Committee

The Technical Advisory Committee for the City of Springfield‘s “Housing and Design Initiative – a Code and Plan Update Project” will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, June 24 at 5:30pm.

This first meeting will introduce Committee members to each other and to the project, work toward approval of the Committee’s bylaws, and will provide an overview of work completed to-date and what’s to come.

  • Location: Jesse Maine Room, Springfield City Hall, 225 5th Street, Springfield

Participants can attend the meeting either in person at Springfield City Hall, or virtually via Zoom using the following link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83101774472. Alternatively, participants can join by phone by dialing +1 971 247 1195 and entering the meeting ID 831 0177 4472#.

The meeting location is wheelchair accessible. For the hearing impaired, an interpreter can be provided with 48 hours’ notice. A “Personal PA Receiver” for the hearing impaired is available, as well as an Induction loop for the benefit of hearing aid users. To arrange for these services call: 541-726-3653.

Stay informed
Community members can observe the meeting, but staff will not take public comments or questions at the meeting. Meeting materials will be available for review one week prior to the meeting at springfieldoregonspeaks.org.

About the Technical Advisory Committee
Springfield’s Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI) appointed the Technical Advisory Committee on May 20, 2025. You can view the CCI’s discussion and more information about Committee members at https://springfieldoregonspeaks.org/items/523.

This 17-member Committee will advise staff (but will not formally vote) on matters related to updating the Springfield Development Code and adopted land use plans. This Committee is project-based and will no longer meet in this capacity upon project completion in 2026.

This effort aligns with Springfield’s Housing Strategy and ensures compliance with new State housing mandates. It includes updates to make development standards for housing clear and objective in mixed-use residential and commercial areas, while identifying opportunities to foster walkable, welcoming places.
